Hey, (mood) readers!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This is your news post, so personalize it! Include as much as you want or as little. Be creative, it can be a vlog or just a showcase of your goodies. Link up once a week or once a month, you decide. Book haul can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books..share them! Feel free to copy and use my Sunday Post image.
Offline Life Update
Hey, everyone! I am happy that I got to keep up with this weekly meme and actually post a second one. A short life update: It has been very peaceful here in our new home and we are settling in quite nicely. We finally got a stable internet connection and I no longer have to depend on unreliable cellular data! That’s a little good news.
I was also very busy with work, as I have back into hosting trainings – now via Zoom. That and all my pending jobs in my content writing gig is making it near impossible for me to find time to do anything else!
Also, it has not been a good week for me – mentally and emotionally. If you are aware of the news and browsing #BlackLivesMatter, you would probably now what I am talking about. As I grow older, I realize I have to remove my rose-colored glasses and see the world for the mess it is. Unfortunately, this caused my anxiety to shoot up – and I haven’t been sleeping well since the incident happened. I know that I am on the other side of the globe, but being in social media makes the world feel much smaller… I only wish that there can be an end to all of this and that George Floyd, his family, and all other victims of racism, violence, and prejudice get the justice that they deserve.
I cannot really put into words what I am feeling. I am very heartbroken, angered, frustrated, hopeless, and anxious about what is yet to come. I know that my platform is really focused on bookish things – but maybe, I can scream into my own little corner of the world for people to stop turning a blind eye and speak up against racism. This has gone long enough.
This Week’s Blog Posts
I haven’t uploaded as much as I would have wanted, because of work and the state of my mental health. Here are the posts that I was able to sare this week:
- Monday: Release Week Blitz: Star Spark by Day Leitao
- Tuesday: Blog Tour: The Hideaway Inn by Philip William Stover // Review + Excerpt
- Saturday: A K-Drama Condensed Into A Book // Book Review: Somewhere Only We Know by Maureen Goo
- Sunday: Exes, Growing Up, and Full Cast Audiobooks // Book Review: It’s Not Me, It’s You by Stephanie Kate Strohm
- Sunday: (still a late) April 2020 Wrap Up
Social Media Updates
I posted two photos on Bookstagram this week!
What I Have Been Watching
I know that I posted about these two shows last weeks, but they were still my companions this week. I have finally finished the second season of Selling Sunset and I cannot wait for Season 3 to start. Still at Season 1 of ATLA, but I hope I can get to watch more episodes this week!
This Week’s LSS
My sister is part of a band called Neon Sunsets and they just shared their first song on Spotify! She is the vocalist and she sounds great – so I hope you can give this song a listen! It has a good vibe and the song was stuck in my head for days!
New Books In My Library
No new books this week! I haven’t been reading – not even using Scribd or listening to audiobooks. I have placed an order for two books, though, and if they arrive next week, I will tell you in my next Sunday’s Post.
What I Have Read This Week
Surprisingly, for a very busy week, I was able to finish 5 reads. 3 of them are audiobooks and 2 of them are digital copies.
Audiobooks via Spotify
- Keep The Faith by Ana Tejano
- Closer by Alexa Riley
- Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck & Fortune by Roselle Lim
What I Am Currently Reading
I was too exhausted this week and it has been very hard to read even a few pages of some books. Unfortunately, these current titles are on hold:
- When You Were Mine by Lisa Swift
- It Sounded Better In My Head by Nina Kenwood
- Don’t You Forget About Me by Mhairi McFarlane
My Favorite Book This Week
