Book Review: Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston [80/100 * 2019]

Finally, a five star read that I would surely would love to read again and again.

Before I say what I thought about the book, let me just say something about this in a One Direction fan standpoint: This book read like a Harry Styles/Louis Tomlinson fan fic. I cannot remember the distinct titles but I have read around five beautifully written books in the same prompt.

Also, Henry is Harry and Alex is Louis, in case you are wondering. The book has even captured some of their quirks, the height jokes, and the fascination with Alex’s ass, so I am going a bit crazy with this. Sorry. Blame my fangirl heart.

Anyway. About the book.

I adored so many things about it and it was so beautifully written. I loved the characters. Both Henry and Alex have captured my heart. Who knew the world will go crazy when Britain’s prince and the FSOTUS falls in love?

I love all the support characters and the way this book was written. This book deserves a complete full review that a person like me is not skilled to give. I can’t find the perfect words, all I know is that I am going crazy over how much I loved this story.

There’s a lot about politics, traditions, and the monarchy. But I am not from UK nor the US to comment on the covered topics, plus, I’d like to take it as idealistic politics with fictional freedom.

Warning that this is not YA, though a part of me thought it was. The sexual content is a bit descriptive and steamy, but I have read more explicit content than this. I think the steam is at a good 7/10 intensity, I guess.

The love and intimacy are what pulled at my heartstrings, especially in the emails they have sent to each other… so. Expect heart eyes or tears from those soon.

All in all, a wonderful read.
I wish I could read more because I will surely miss them all.
