The Young Elites by Marie Lu
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
OCTOBER 2018 REVIEW
I decided to reread The Young Elites so I can submerge myself into Marie Lu’s books for the next few weeks. A few pages into this one, I remembered how much I love her writing and how un-“put-down”-able a book can be if she wrote it. If it wasn’t for too much adult responsibilities, I would’ve finished this faster.
Adelina remains to be one of the best antiheroes I have ever been blessed to know. There’s nothing bad I can say about this book. Proof that a YA fantasy series can be good without too much focus on the romance.
I am so fascinated by Adelina’s thoughts and her character development. I love how Marie Lu established this world. Also making you feel attached to characters only to kill them in the end. (Oops.)
I am confused about who the endgame here is, romance-wise. Would she be alone at the end? (Which I think would be awesome.) Or would there be somebody new to know?
Please don’t spoil it for me, though.
Excited to read The Rose Society. I hear only good things about that one.
OCTOBER 2014 REVIEW
Oh, Marie Lu. Definitely one of the bests!
I remember how captivated I was by Legend-Prodigy-Champion that I read through them within 2 days.
I wish I could say the same here. But, I still have to wait for the sequel. Meh.
Darker. Sexier.
Still so awesoooome.
I don’t want to tell much because I don’t want to be a spoiler. But here’s a few things I like:
– Powers!
– Adelina and Enzo
– Teren (There’s something about him.)
– Gemma
– Glimpses of love and desire
– Royalty and kingdoms
– A whole new world
– Vivid descriptions
– Twists and turns
– Character development
– ..and a freaking cliffhanger at the end.
Go freaking buy a copy of this book!
