The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

“I always imagined music trapped inside my clarinet, not trapped inside of me. But what if music is what escapes when a heart breaks?”
There are books that feel like a friend. Books where reading flows so easily, where characters latch to your heart, easy to love and hard to leave behind.
This, sad to say, is not one of them.
Throughout this story, I found bursts of great parts but there were more boring, draggy parts and parts where I feel like I dislike the protagonist so much.
What I like though are the poems and the way they were scattered throughout the book. I also like how the protagonist was a bit “redeemed” toward the end.
Still a good read, but not a fave.
