The Fill-In BoyfriendThe Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Well, if you’re a mess then I’m a natural disaster.”

“The cutest natural disaster I’ve ever seen.”

🌻 Blurb: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Gia Montgomery got dumped by her boyfriend on prom night. She enlisted the help of a hot guy on the parking lot to be her fake-boyfriend of the night. A web of lies, a test of friendships and the sudden change of her world are up ahead. MY THOUGHTS: So much potential for a light fun read.

🌻 Heroine:⭐⭐⭐
Gia is such a pain to read for the first half of the book. How shallow and silly she is makes me want to gag a bit. I mean, it’s sad how much she has to pretend so much. Please give her a chance, though. You’ll love the change in her.

🌻 Hero:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love “Fill-In Bradley” *wink* so much. Cute, geeky, loves theater and his family. I loved how he carried himself and his beliefs. He was a catalyst in Gia’s change for the better and I love him for that.

🌻 Support Characters:
I ‘ll give Bec and their mom r ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Gia deserved to have people who are raw and honest and real-humans-showing-emotions in her life. Gia’s parents, Spencer and Bradley get ⭐. I hate them so much. I guess Kasie West did a good job to write them as she made me hate them.

🌻 Writing Style:⭐⭐⭐
The writing flows well. It’s easy and light to read. It makes the book something good to pass the time.

🌻 Character Development: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you Kasie for giving Gia growth. She learned from her mistakes and that’s good enough for me. If not, this book would be one heck of a fail.

🌻 Romance:⭐⭐⭐ and a half.
This is just something cutesy. Sweet and subtle and not too much of a kissfest. Loooove the dialogue between Gia and FIB, though.

🌻 Pacing: ⭐⭐⭐
It’s at the right pace. Never went on the boring side. The build up was good.

🌻 Ending: ⭐⭐⭐ and a half.
It’s an open ending, but a happy one. I am in need of a bit of closure with Gia and her clique. That was a major plot point and they just didn’t touch how it would end. Her relationship with her parents needed a bit of a nudge, too.

🌻 Page Turner:⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had an all nighter with this one when I was at the 40% mark. No pressure though. You could give this one a few breaks.

🌻 Book Cover:⭐⭐⭐⭐
I think it’s cute. Another headless couple one for Kasie West.

A perfect read for YA romance lovers. Something sweet with a bit of a light lesson here and there.
