The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Look at me, reading a Christmas themed novel a few weeks after Christmas. This was not intended, though. It was a random choice that came when someone asked me if I have a physical copy of it and I realized I actually have not read this.
One sentence review: This one great feel-good Christmas read.
This is a modern day somewhat retelling of A Christmas Carol which I have not read nor watched. Sorry. This book gave me a grasp about the characters and the story though.
We follow Holly Chase, the acting Ghost of Christmas Past, former bratty girl aka Scrooge herself. It was a fun adventure being into her head. Especially when Ethan Winters III came in.
At first, I was expecting a love story. But this book was a bit of a self-reflecting one. I love the little life lessons here and there. I adore the side characters. They made the story full and fun.
I was definitely expecting a plot twist and the one the author chose caught me offguard, then, extremely satisfied with how the story concluded.
