⚠⚠ Trigger warnings for rape/sexual assault.
I just finished reading this book moments ago and I cannot really decide what it meant to me. At times I felt this book is amazing, then at times I felt like it fell short.
This is a story about a girl. About wanting to be seen. About wanting to be loved.
It began and built up so amazingly that at some parts it all felt so real. Like my heart was pumping and will explode.
Some parts were a bit draggy. I have to admit, the way the author tied up the knots. Or the way she brings the story down was a bit dull and frustrating.
Talking about rape in general does not feel good. Normally, I feel like staying away from it. But sometimes, especially after books like this. I am reminded of the injustice and how so screwed up the justice system of the entire world is. It’s an unending battle but we have to keep fighting for the Ellies, Gretchens and Kaitleys of our lives.
