“Simply put, Evelyn Abbey is my former almost-girlfriend-turned-archnemesis-turned-tentative-ally whom I would now very much like to permanently seduce…”
Thank you, Christina Lauren, my go-to duo for light, fun and sexy reads. You never disappoint.
Dating You/Hating You is a bit of slow start. But it gets really good, so it’s all worth it. The read felt like watching a romcom. There were so many scenes that I can imagine in my head. At first, I was like, “So, where’s the hating part?” And when the “hating” came, I was laughing out loud and getting frustrated at the same time.
This read also has an undertone of sexism and how almost all workplaces suffer with bosses aka assholes who are still thinking that men are superior. The abuse here for our female lead is infuriating, and it hurts to think how many females are still suffering in the real world because of this. There is also the very controversial pay differences. I, for one, am very aware of pay differences between genders, even in exact similar roles, especially in Hollywood. So, wow.
Great job. Still looking forward for more C&L reads.
