“You listen here, Lucas Thatcher. I hate you, but you’re going to kiss me. You’re going to kiss me and you’re not going to stop.”
Tiny screaming. I’m whisper screaming, silently screaming in my head. AAAAAAAHHHH~ I really am a sucker for enemies-to-lovers stories.
Anything You Can Do is a very light romcom type of the enemies-to-lovers. It’s a small town rivalry that started when Lucas and Daisy were still wee little babies. They kept competing with each other all throughout their studies until they have to leave for college. Our novel starts 11 years after they last met though, when they are now 28 and medical doctors.
What can I say about this? This is my first encounter with R.S. Grey. I kept seeing some of her book along my GR feed, so I had to check her out. Taking a peek at her babies, this one became first pick. But boy, I am begging for more.
This is a one-sit-reading type, with funny lines and quips, very easy to read. The sexual tension was so intense, my phone (where I was reading) could have exploded. And the glimpses of how much these two really cared about each other made me feel a whole lot of kilig inside.
I wish I could have more of Lucas and Daisy’s story. What I am sure of is I’m going to read more from this author! Cheers~
☁ THE CRITERIA ☁
The blurb I read was Daisy’s POV, giving me the enemies-to-lovers teaser and sexy times teaser at the same time. I was hooked.
Lucas being described as a sexy Clark Kent got me so weak. But all his crazy pranks made me smile so hard. He is actually very likeable and very nice to a lot of people. He’s pretty charming so I guess that’s what Daisy gets so frustrated about it. When you find out this guy’s back story, definitely swoonworthy.
I think Daisy is 10x more crazier than Lucas. Her POV got me literally laughing out loud. She’s so crazy all the time and her ideas are almost always a flop. She thinks of the craziest plans against Lucas but she really just cares about him too much. I think her mind actually has Lucas there 90% of the time. He has so much power over her, and her struggles to come to terms with it, made it a whole lot of fun.
🌻 Support Characters:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A lot of support characters here and there, but the one who takes the cake is Daisy’s mom! So many of the funniest scenes here is because of her very “mom” antics. She added so much humor here. I love her.
🌻 Writing Style:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love the voice the other gave the characters. It was a breezy read. Light and fluffy and hot whenever I needed it.
🌻 Character Development:⭐⭐⭐
Not so much, a little 5% down the end. The major plot twist. Dun dun dun.
The love and hate is so cute. The hot scenes are indeed hot hot hot. It was the anticipation that kills. All that sexual tension speeds up your reading, I guess.
🌻 Page Turner:⭐⭐⭐⭐
The pacing is fast. And again, it was a one sitting type of read if you have the time, so definitely passing in that aspect.
Cute and just what they needed and deserved.
🌻 Book Cover:⭐⭐
Very similar to all her other covers. Not a fan of the color combination.
