“He still never gives me more than a one-second look before blinking away. But that’s okay. One second always feels like a long time when I’m with him.”

Say hello to the first pick from my Bookie Jar — the only solution I thought of on choosing the next book I will read.

99 Percent Mine is the second book of Sally Thorne, known from The Hating Game. Her debut novel skyrocketed to fame, so I am sure there were a lot of expectations.

I have to admit, I loved The Hating Game and I was very excited for this author’s future works.

“What are you doing here so late, Tom Valeska, world’s most perfect man?”

99 Percent Mine is a light-ish romance, with a strong female lead, Darcy, and a Mr. Responsible male lead, Tom. These two had been friends since childhood, plus her twin, Jamie. They both had intense crushes on each other and were both little oblivious lovestruck fools.

From the blurb: When Darcy and Jamie inherit a tumble-down cottage from their grandmother, they’re left with strict instructions to bring it back to its former glory and sell the property. Darcy plans to be in an aisle seat halfway across the ocean as soon as the renovations start, but before she can cut and run, she finds a familiar face on her porch: house-flipper extraordinaire Tom’s arrived, he’s bearing power tools, and he’s single for the first time in almost a decade.

“I have measured every single man I’ve ever met against you. No one compares. That’s been scaring me a long time now, because what do you do when you can’t have your dream man?”

This story was actually a whole lot of pining. Both main characters had low self esteem and both thought their love interest were too good for them. I would have been frustrated if not for the very amusing writing style of Sally Thorne that I definitely enjoy.

I’m not a particularly petite woman, but he makes me feel like I’m soft. Little and light. A princess. I frown, sit up, and force myself back into a geometric shape.

☁ THE CRITERIA ☁

Cute, promising. Did deliver.
🌻 Hero:⭐⭐⭐⭐
Description made him so hot. Aaah. Very cute, lovable and sweet. I love how protective he is and how jealous he gets.
🌻 Heroine:⭐⭐⭐⭐
A definite mess, but I still liked her. She dealt with her sickness. She dealt with recent death in the family. She may seem crazy, but she is just trying to stand up for herself.
🌻 Support Characters:⭐⭐⭐
I love the co workers. Jamie was infuriating. Truly was fun.
🌻 Writing Style:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The writing style made me hold on to this and made it a real easy read.
🌻 Character Development:⭐⭐⭐
Not much, but cute resolution and conclusion.
